The Mom Behind Yoni Bandha

About me information

Bonjour chers parents!

I’m a proud French mom living in the United States, and I have an unyielding passion for the mind-body connection, particularly in the context of pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum experiences.

My journey began when I moved to the US in 2018, freshly married and eager to start a family. The path to motherhood was a swift one – we settled into our new life, and before we knew it, I was expecting. In my haste, I realized that while I had yearned for pregnancy, I hadn’t really explored the depths of this incredible journey.

Like many expats, I turned to social media groups, seeking advice about what to do next. I followed my OB-GYN’s instructions without question, and the idea of a natural birth lingered in the background, unexplored. There was no preparation or education – just a desire to prove my strength.

The turning point came one August night in 2019 when my water broke. A sense of empowerment was missing, and I felt ashamed of my lack of confidence. The hospital experience left me feeling infantilized, confined to a cold room while I waited for tests to confirm my water had indeed broken. Contractions slowly intensified, and I began to worry. When I was finally moved to the delivery room, the pain was intense, and I requested an epidural even though I was nearly fully dilated. The birth itself was a blur, but eventually, my beautiful baby was placed on my chest.

I wrestled through months of sleep deprivation and postpartum depression before I finally found myself able to embrace motherhood. Joining Fit4Mom, discovering the power of podcasts, and finding helpful Instagram accounts helped me navigate this new world. As I reflected on my daughter’s birth, I realized that I had been deprived of my own power, and that awareness ignited a passion for understanding and learning more about childbirth.

Fast forward two years, and I was able to welcome my second child in the serene and safe environment of my own home, surrounded by loved ones and my midwife. This transformative experience inspired me to embark on the path of childbirth education. In early 2023, I began my training and started accompanying other families on their own journeys.

My professional life has also evolved to align with my role as a mother. I’m self-employed, which allows me to set my own hours and work primarily from home. I’ve obtained certifications as a yoga instructor and a Lamaze childbirth educator. My goal is to provide families with the best and most accurate knowledge, shaped by my own beliefs and supplemented by self-training in haptonomy, an emotional connection practice between parents and babies in utero that originated in Europe.

Family remains my top priority, and our shared love for travel has taken us to various corners of the world, including an eight-month stint in South America. My ultimate wish is to show my children the wonders of the world while creating lasting memories together.

Join me on this incredible journey, where motherhood, education, and self-discovery are at the heart of it all.
